galactical runoff

you can split the atom,
but you can’t eliminate it.
you can learn what words mean,
but you still can’t spell them.
incomplete, illiterate
is what you are.
a human being.
inefficient.
power lines connecting gaps
within the finite expanse
of your mind
send electric shockwaves
to the absent
recipient,
processor of bodily functions.
this is not retardation
when sentient beings
willfully abandon common sense,
reason, rationality
to illustrate the inherent tendency
to manufacture hierarchical structure.
the god, the king, the commander,
in chief or
else. something must
be present, a concept, a notion,
a phasing atmosphere;
the feeling of a palm
opened just for you, holding you
at just the right angle
to maintain a respectable influence.
but you still can’t distinguish
a contraction from a possessive.
the contractions are possessive,
and follow as if synchronized
for the arrival of life.
life, started at the point of
conception? the conception of
physical independence, perhaps.
humans, you crack an egg
and scramble it without pause,
but consider an individual
scrambling their own
and it’s like the primaries
all over again. friends and foes
grabbing at any amount of skin
lying in excess at the throat.
you can’t spell the word,
but that mother fucker
is it.
